The Democratic Party Has a Credibility Problem—And They Earned It

Let’s stop pretending the Democratic Party is the sole answer to our problems. At best, they’ve become a soft opposition. At worst, they’re part of the same machinery that protects the donor class while working people suffer.

I’m not here to bash rank-and-file Democrats. I’ve met incredible voters—hardworking, thoughtful people—who believe in equality, dignity, and fairness. But the leadership? The system? The national and state party infrastructure? It’s broken. And they’ve had years to fix it.

They Talk Big, But Deliver Small

Democrats love to campaign on bold ideas—Medicare for All, affordable housing, debt relief, climate action, gun reform—but when it’s time to actually legislate? Suddenly it’s, “Now’s not the time.” Suddenly, we’re told to wait. You had the House, the Senate, and the White House—and still couldn’t deliver on basic promises.  Let alone significant actions that might have avoided our currrent predicament, such as expanding the Supreme Court.

They Protect Power, Not Progress

The Democratic Party says it wants a big tent. But it sure seems like they only make room for people who don’t rock the boat. They ignore candidates with grassroots energy unless they’re flush with donor cash or party connections. Worse, in some places, party insiders actively sabotage promising new voices. I’ve seen it firsthand, and I’m NOT talking about my prior campaign. Corruption, cronyism, and a deep fear of anyone who might demand accountability drives them, and it’s disgusting.

This isn’t just petty politics—it’s a dereliction of duty.

They Don’t Know How to Fight

Let’s talk about messaging. While Republicans flood the airwaves with fear, rage, and lies, Democrats are busy workshopping “nuanced” statements that nobody remembers. When the far-right tries to ban books, gut reproductive rights, and suppress votes, Democratic leadership issues a strongly worded tweet (at best) and moves on. This is not how you fight fascism. It’s how you get punked.  Repeatedly.

And let’s not even get started on how they let corporate media set the narrative, over and over again.

So What Do We Do?

Here’s what I believe: You don’t fix a broken system by waiting for it to save you. You push. You challenge. You run. You refuse to be silent.

I’m running because people deserve better than two parties playing ping-pong with our future. I’m still on the ballot as a Democrat—because that’s the current reality of our system. But make no mistake: I don’t owe the party leadership a damn thing. My loyalty is to working people, not county chairs and their bootlickers.

If I’m elected, I’ll fight to:

  • Ban corporate money from politics.

  • Fight to bring ranked choice voting to California and beyond.

  • Hold BOTH parties accountable when they sell out the people they claim to serve.

  • Deliver real, measurable results—not performative fluff.

Because if we want a government that works, we need people inside it who aren’t afraid to call out the rot—even in their own house.

And I’ll do just that.
